Early Astronomy Pictures

All of the images on this page were taken with a Meade 8 inch LX 200 Classic and an SBIG ST-237a CCD Camera. All images were unguided and made up of stacking many short exposures. Imaging/ camera control software consisted of CCDOpps in the the 1st shots and then migrated over to CCDSoft . At this time period, I didn't know what image processing was, so there is very little imaging processing in any of the shots.

"The beautiful thing about science is that it can be tried, tested, proven and disproved. We don’t have to keep on believing the same thing for the sake of tradition. Whether or not scientists are someday “proven” to be correct or wrong in their theories, they still provide a valuable reminder that questioning IS the basis for new discovery and for Science itself.
