Processing:
I wasn't happy with the way that way that CCDSoft brought the color combine together in this image.

Instead, I calibrated, aligned, and stacked the subframes in ImagesPlus (IP) Ver. 2.75 using the
Automatic Image Set Processing feature. After calibratin, aligning and stacking each color set, I then used the
Auto Color Combine feature in IP, combining only the RGB frames. I also took advantage of the "star size
reduction tool in IP before moving it into PhotoShop (PS) CS2.

In PS, the image was stetched using Curves and Levels were adjusted. I then brought in the Luminance frame in as a Luminance layer.

Flattened the image and used the Russel Croman's Gadient Xterminator to make the background even and NeatImage Pro to
reduce the noise in the image. Then, a final tweak with curves and a slight sharpening using the "Smart Sharpen" tool.

NGC 1999 also known as the Keyhole Nebula is a dust filled bright nebula. It is a reflection nebula, and shines from the light of the variable star V380. It is located 1,500 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Orion.
